 Rabat, Morocco

Morocco's rich history and culture are part of the reason millions of tourists visit the country every year. It is convenient to travel to and from Spain and western Europe, and has an incredible variety of attractions to discover. Notable attractions include historic medinas (of Fez and Marrakesh, for example), Roman ruins, the snow peaked Atlas Mountains, and the rugged Atlantic coastline with the Mediterranean Sea to the north. There are seaside cities like Asilah and Agadir and Berber villages in the south and interior. You can take a desert trek in the Sahara one day and the next you can windsurf or kitesurf in Essouira.
The primary languages are Moroccan Arabic and French, as well as Berber languages spoken in the rural areas. A visit to Morocco is an excellent opportunity to study a strategic language such as Arabic or French to open future doors.

Rabat, one of Morocco's 4 imperial cities, is easily accessed by a great system of buses, taxis and a new tram way system. The city boasts a number of must-see locations including the Hassan Tower, a UNESCO world heritage site and the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V. Rabat is also famous for the ancient ruins of the "Chellah" and the cliff top Kasbah of the Oudayas which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, Rabat enjoys a close proximity to beaches, parks, the Mamora Forest, and traditional souks as well as shopping malls.

The American Language Center (ALC) Rabat, a member of the American Cultural Association of Morocco, has been providing high quality language instruction in Morocco's capital city for over half a century. Founded shortly after Morocco gained independence in the late 1950's, the ALC Rabat operates independent of any government affiliation/subsidy, and is a Moroccan-based, non-profit organization. The ALC-Rabat has been the choice for learners of English more than any other language school in the area, serving several thousand language learners per year at our headquarters and annex. Our facilities include a library, a bookstore, a multimedia lab, and our new Common Area for special activities.
